Residents gathered to greet Bumrah, a local hero who made the nation proud with his stellar performance in the T20 World Cup. As Bumrah stepped out of a black Range Rover, his mother rushed to embrace him amidst an enthusiastic shower of rose petals. This heartwarming moment was captured on video and has since been widely shared on social media.

Upon reaching home, Bumrah presented his T20 World Cup 2024 winner’s medal and Player of the Tournament award to his mother, Daljit. The star bowler shared a touching picture of this moment on his Instagram handle, garnering admiration and affection from fans and followers.

Match-winning show in the final

Notably, Bumrah’s performance in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa was crucial to India’s victory. When South Africa needed just 30 runs off the last 30 deliveries, the right-arm pacer delivered an exceptional spell, conceding only six runs in his final two overs and taking the vital wicket of Marco Jansen. His efforts helped India secure a thrilling seven-run victory, clinching their second T20 World Cup title. Bumrah finished the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker, with 15 wickets from eight innings at an average of 8.46 and an economy rate of 4.17.
