Kohli’s actions on Day 1, which occurred while Konstas was in scintillating form, drew criticism from former players and Australian media, who labeled the Indian batter as a “bully” and a “clown.” Konstas, however, appeared unfazed by the confrontation, continuing to punish the Indian bowlers with an array of unconventional strokes. The 19-year-old’s dream debut saw him smash a brilliant 60 off 65 balls, featuring six boundaries and two sixes, setting the stage for Australia’s commanding 474-run first innings, bolstered by a century from Steve Smith.

However, the partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar for the ninth wicket provided some stability, helping India recover to a degree.
