Tino Best and Yuvraj Singh engage in war of words, Ambati Rayudu and Brian Lara come for rescue | International Masters League 2025

In a dramatic turn of events during the final of the International Masters League 2025, a heated exchange erupted between Yuvraj Singh of India Masters and Tino Best of West Indies Masters.

Heated altercation between Yuvraj Singh and Tino Best

The incident took at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, where India Masters ultimately emerged victorious, defeating West Indies Masters by six wickets.

The confrontation began after Tino completed his over and attempted to leave the field, citing injury concerns. However, Yuvraj raised the issue with umpire Billy Bowden, who requested Tino to return to the field. This led to a verbal spat between the two players, with both refusing to back down. The situation escalated to the point where they were seen going shoulder-to-shoulder, exchanging heated words.

Intervention by Ambati Rayudu and Brian Lara

The tense standoff was eventually diffused by the timely intervention of India batter Ambati Rayudu and West Indies Masters captain Brian Lara. Rayudu, who was also involved in the match, attempted to calm Tino down, while Lara stepped in to separate the duo, ensuring that the situation did not escalate further. Umpire Billy also played a crucial role in maintaining order on the field.

Despite the intense confrontation, Yuvraj maintained his composure and contributed to India’s successful chase. His ability to keep his cool under pressure was reminiscent of his iconic performance in the 2007 T20 World Cup, where he hit six sixes in an over after a heated exchange with Andrew Flintoff.

Match Summary

The final match saw India Masters, led by Sachin Tendulkar, dominate the proceedings. West Indies Masters posted a total of 148/7 in their 20 overs, with Lendl Simmons scoring 57 and Dwayne Smith contributing 45 runs. India’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Vinay Kumar, who took three wickets, while Shahbaz Nadeem claimed two dismissals.

In response, India Masters chased down the target with ease, thanks largely toRayudu’s impressive 50-ball knock of 74, which included nine fours and three sixes. Tendulkar also showcased his vintage form with 25 runs off 18 balls, including two fours and one six. The Indian outfit successfully completed the chase with six wickets in hand and 2.5 overs to spare.
