Game 23 of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 featured a clash between South Africa and Bangladesh at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, October 24. As the toss approached, Proteas fans were presented with a turn of events as regular skipper Temba Bavuma was missing once again.

It is worth noting that Bavuma missed South Africa’s clash against England previously due to gastric illness, and once again, he is not leading South Africa against Bangladesh in Mumbai. It has been informed that Bavuma hasn’t fully recovered from the gastric illness he suffered before the England game, and that he will be rested for the clash as a precautionary measure.
