The Netherlands and Bangladesh will lock horns in Match 28 of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. The game will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on October 28, Saturday.
The Scott Edwards-led side are coming off a 309-run defeat against five-time champions Australia in their previous game. Bangladesh, on the other hand, suffered a 149-run defeat against South Africa in their last match. Bangladesh and the Netherlands are currently sitting eighth and tenth position, respectively in the ODI World Cup points table.
Here are three players to watch out for in the game between the Netherlands and Bangladesh:
Mahmudullah
Mahmudullah could be Bangladesh’s best batter in their forthcoming clash against the Netherlands. He is Bangladesh’s current top scorer, having scored 198 runs in four games at an average of 99.00 and a strike rate of 101.02. In Bangladesh’s previous game against South Africa, he hit 111 runs, including eleven boundaries and seven sixes.
Shakib Al Hasan
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan might be a key for his side in their clash against the Netherlands. The number one ODI all-rounder has so far picked up six wickets from four games at an average of 34.16 and an economy rate of 5.54. His performance with the bat was not up to par as he had amassed only 56 runs from four games at an average of 14.00.
Logan van Beek
Logan van Beek could be the best bowler in the match between the Netherlands and Bangladesh. He is Netherlands’ highest wicket-taker having picked up eight wickets from four games at an average of 27.62 and an economy rate of 6.34. He was instrumental for his side in their clash against Australia as he finished with excellent figures of 4/74.
