Australia and Netherlands will square off in the ongoing ODI World Cup. The match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 25, Wednesday.
The Pat Cummins-led side are coming off a 62-run win over Pakistan in Bengaluru. Speaking about the match, Australia were asked to bat first after losing the toss. David Warner and Mitchell Marsh both scored centuries as the five-time champions posted a mammoth 367 runs in allotted overs. Warner scored 163 off 124 deliveries, while Marsh hit a 108-ball 121 runs.
Later Adam Zampa picked up wickets as Australia restricted Pakistan by 305 in 45.3 overs. Apart from him, captain Cummins and star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis grabbed two wickets each.
The Netherlands, on the other hand, have suffered a five-wicket loss over Sri Lanka in their previous match. The Scott Edwards-led side posted 262 runs in 49.4 overs after opting to bat first. In particular, fifties from Sybrand Engelbrecht and Logan van Beek helped the Scott Edwards-led side set a reasonable target for the Kusal Mendis-led side.
Later Aryan Dutt claimed a three-wicket haul for Netherlands. However, it was not enough for them as Sri Lanka chased down the target with 10 balls to spare. Apart from Dutt, Paul van Meekeren and Colin Ackermann picked up one wicket each for the Netherlands.
Australia are favourites heading into the match against the Netherlands. The kangaroos are currently sitting fourth in the points table, having won two of their four games. The Netherlands, on the other hand, have lost three of tehri four games so far in the ongoing competition.
