Bangladesh are gearing up to face Sri Lanka in a highly anticipated three-match One Day International (ODI) series, set to commence on March 13. The opening match of the series will be held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Najmul Hossain Shanto has been entrusted with the leadership of the Bangladesh team, while Kusal Mendis will be leading the Sri Lankan squad as the captain.
The upcoming ODI series follows closely on the heels of a recently concluded three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series between the two teams. In the T20I series, Sri Lanka demonstrated their prowess by securing victory over Bangladesh with a 2-1 scoreline, clinching the series in the process.
With this recent success fresh in their minds, Sri Lanka will be aiming to maintain their winning momentum as they transition to the ODI format. On the other hand, Bangladesh will be eager to bounce back from their defeat in the T20Is and put up a strong performance in the upcoming ODIs.
