Pakistan Super League 2023 will continue to entertain its fans on Sunday, February 26 as Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans will be going against each other at National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
Multan Sultans have been having a great run in the tournament after losing their opening fixture against Lahore Qalandars. They lost in a thrilling game as they fell one run short of Qalandar’s score of 175.
However, they made a sensational comeback in their second game against Quetta Gladiators as they bundled them out for 110 and chased down the target in 13.3 overs.
In their third game against Peshawar Zalmi, they showed their tremendous batting prowess by posting a massive score of 210/3 in their allotted 20 overs. They further restricted them to 154 winning the game by a massive margin of 56 runs. In their next game as well against Islamabad United, the Sultans’ batters wreaked havoc and scored a massive 190 batting first and once again won by a massive margin of 52 runs.
In their fifth game, the Sultans faced the Kings which turned out to be a high-scoring thriller. Batting first, Sultans once again crossed 190 in their third consecutive fixture and posted 196/2 courtesy of a hundred by Mohammad Rizwan. In reply, the Kings came mighty close to chasing the target but lost the game by just three runs.
On the other hand, the Kings have had a completely contrasting start as compared to the Sultans. They have won just one match so far in the tournament out of five. Out of those four losses, the Kings have lost three really close games losing two runs, six runs and three runs respectively.
The team led by Imad Wasim needs to learn to seize important moments in the game and emerge victorious from tense situations. Having been defeated by the same opposition four days back, the Kings will look to get back to winning ways and bring their campaign back on track.
On the other hand, Sultans will look to continue their winning streak and extend their lead on the top of the points table.
