The match 24 of the Pakistan Super League 2023 brought fans to the edge of their seats as both Islamabad United and Multan Sultans were in a neck-to-neck battle with each other at the Pindi Club Ground, Rawalpindi on March 7( Tuesday).

The United captain Shadab Khan called it correctly at the toss and invited the Sultans to bat first. However, his decision backfired as the opposition got off to a flying start with Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood adding 57 runs for the first wicket.

Shan Masood went on to score 75 off 50 balls and was well supported by Tim David who played a scintillating knock of 60 off 27 balls. Courtesy of their marvellous performances, Sultans posted a massive 205/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jr picked up two wickets each for United.

In reply, United lost both their openers in the first five overs. Captain Shadab Khan (44 off 25) and Colin Munro (40 off 21) stabilised the innings with their 59-run partnership off 30 balls.

However, after their dismissal, it was all down to Faheem Ashraf who stitched useful partnerships with the tail and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for his side.
