In order to keep their hopes alive to qualify for the next round, Trent Rockets cannot afford to drop any points. They will also have to improve their net run rate when they face Oval Invincibles in their upcoming match on August 21 at Kennington Oval. Notably, Invincibles, on the other hand, are out of the equation to qualify but they can spoil Rocket’s party.
Interestingly, Rockets have won their last two matches of the season to keep themselves alive in the race. Bryony Smith hit 64 runs off 40 deliveries in the last match. Kristie Gordon and Alana King picked up one wicket each. Overall, they will have to improve massively as NRR can prove to be extremely valuable.
When it comes to the Oval Invincibles, they have lost their last two matches and with that, they are eliminated from the race to qualify for the next round. In the last match, Suzie Bates (55 runs off 46 deliveries) and Paige Scholfield (30 runs off 17 deliveries) managed to help the team post 130 runs on board but overall, the batting unit needs to improve.
When it comes to bowling, they have managed to pick two early wickets but couldn’t capitalise on the start and eventually lost by seven wickets. Hence, the team will be aiming to get better in their final league game to win the match and give their fans something to cheer about.
