India are enjoying an outstanding campaign in the ongoing ODI World Cup. India entered the semifinal of the competition, winning all nine games of the league stage. The Men in Blue have now advanced to the final, outplaying New Zealand by 70 runs at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 

Speaking of the semifinal, India won the toss and opted to bat first. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer scored respective centuries as India posted a mammoth total of 397 runs. Later Mohammed Shami claimed a seven-wicket haul as India restricted the Kiwis by 327 runs in 48.5 overs.

Here are the top three Indian bowlers in ODI World Cup 2023 so far:

Mohammed Shami 

Mohammed Shami has been one of the standout performers for India in the ongoing tournament. The veteran pacer is currently the leading wicket-taker of this competition, having picked up a total of 23 wickets from six innings with an impressive average of 9.13 and an excellent economy rate of 5.01. In his first match in this tournament against New Zealand Shami picked up a fifer. He then claimed his second five-wicket haul in India’s clash against Sri Lanka. The 33-year-old was crucial for the Rohit Sharma-led side, having picked up a total of seven wickets for 57 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah currently holds the fourth position in the list of leading wicket-takers. He has so far claimed 18 wickets to his name from 10 games at an average of 18.33 and an economy rate of 3.8. In the league stage clash against Sri Lanka, Bumrah dismissed Pathum Nissanka on the very first ball of the innings. With this, he became the first Indian bowler to claim a wicket on the first ball of the innings in the history of the World Cups.  In the semi-final clash, he finished with figures of 1/64 dismissing Glenn Philipps.

Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja has been crucial for India in almost all games of this tournament. He is currently the team’s third-highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets from 10 innings at an average of 22.18 and an economy rate of 4.25. His best performance came against South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata where he finished with excellent figures of 5/33.
