Game 15 of the WBBL (Women’s Big Bash League) 2023 will feature a clash between Melbourne Stars women and Perth Scorchers women at the Junction Oval, Melbourne on Sunday, October 29. It could be interesting to see which side emerges victorious.
Melbourne Stars women will be coming into the game on the back of a loss in their previous game against Brisbane Heat women. Both sides faced each other in the 13th game of the tournament. The clash began with Heat coming in to bat first. Georgia Voll’s unbeaten knock of 48 runs helped the side post a total of 150 runs on the board in the first innings.
As for Stars, Alice Capsey and Annabel Sutherland were the highest wicket takers for the side with two wickets each to their names. Kim Garth and Milly Illingworth took one wicket each as well.
Aiming to chase down the target, Stars got off to a horrid start as the openers failed to go big. Alice Capsey’s knock of 52 runs and Kim Garth adding 45* runs to the board helped the side with some hope. However, they were unable to chase down the target and eventually lost the game by 13 runs.
On the other hand, Perth Scorchers Women will be coming into the clash on the back of a win in their previous game against Hobart Hurricanes Women. Batting first, Hurricanes posted a total of 158 runs on the board.
Chloe Ainsworth was the highest wicket taker for Scorchers, taking three wickets. Amy Edgar and Alana King took two wickets each as well, with Lilly Mills and Piepa Cleary striking once each.
Aiming to chase down the target, Scorchers put forth a brilliant performance with the bat. Beth Mooney scored 52 runs with Maddy Darke adding 45* runs on the board as Perth Scorchers chased down the target, winning the game by seven wickets.
