Perth Scorchers will lock horns with Sydney Sixers in the 18th match of the ongoing Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). The match will be played at the Western Australian Cricket Association in Perth on October 31.

Perth Scorchers are coming off a seven-run defeat over Melbourne Stars. Speaking about the game, Stars opted to bat first after winning the toss. Annabel Sutherland scored 49 runs as the Stars scored 154 runs in allotted overs. For Scorchers, captain Sophie Devine and Lilly Mills picked up two wickets each.

The Scorchers got off to the worst possible start during the 155-run chase. They were subsequently restricted to 147/9. Maddy Darke top-scored for the Scorchers, scoring 45 off 33 deliveries, including six boundaries. Meanwhile, Sophie Day was key for the Stars, claiming a four-wicket haul.

Sydney Sixers, on the other hand, have won their previous game against Melbourne Renegades. This marked their first in the tournament after suffering three defeats on the trot. 

Speaking about the game, the Sixers won the toss and elected to bat first. The Ellyse Perry led side posted 164 runs, thanks to the captain’s 41-ball 50-run knock which included seven boundaries. Chole Tryon also played a significant contribution, producing a quick-fire 41 off just 16 balls with the help of five maximums.

The bowlers showcased exceptional skills as the Sixers restricted the Renegades by 158 runs to hand their side a six-run win. Lauren Cheatle, Ashleigh Gardner, and Maitlan Brown picked up two wickets each. Meanwhile, Erin Burn made one scalp.

The Scorchers are currently sitting fourth in the eight-team table, having won two of their four games. Meanwhile, the Sixers are languishing at the bottom of the points chart.
