India managed to keep the five-match T20I series against the West Indies alive by winning the third T20I in Guyana after ending up on the wrong side in the first couple of games. The fourth T20I will be played in a different country altogether. The action moves to the USA where India have had the upper hand over the West Indies in the past. The pitch at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill is known to suit batters and it will be interesting to see how the big hitters on both sides fare in the crucial encounter.
3. Kuldeep Yadav
Even on a batter-friendly wicket, Kuldeep Yadav can pose serious questions to the best of batters when on song. In the last game, he picked up three wickets, including the vital one of the in-form Nicholas Pooran. The star spinner has used his guile and subtle variations to keep the West Indies batters on their toes. He might not get too much help off the pitch as he got from the one in Guyana but he is well adept at varying his pace and changing angles to cause discomfort.
2. Nicholas Pooran
The former West Indies captain has been in scintillating form as of late. Pooran scored a swashbuckling century in the finals of the inaugural Major League Cricket to win MI New York the title. He has carried on with the good run of form in the T20Is against India and has looked in a different league at times. In the three games, Pooran has scored 128 runs at an average of 42.67 and a strike rate of 148.84. His big-hitting capabilities could bode well for the West Indies on the relatively flatter surface that might be on offer in Lauderhill
1. Suryakumar Yadav
After a dismal ODI series and the first couple of T20Is, the onus was on India’s vice-captain to step up under pressure. Suryakumar did just that in the third T20I as he played a remarkable knock of 83 in 44 balls on a tricky surface at the Providence Stadium. The Mumbai batter is dangerous once he finds his rhythm and Rovman Powell and Co. would do well to try and devise a suitable plan to get him out cheaply before he gets going.
