England have their back against the wall as they head into the second WT20I of the three-match series in Women’s Ashes 2023. The Heather Knight led-side need to win the second WT20I to be played on Wednesday, July 05 at The Oval, London at all costs or else they will lose the Ashes.

Australia already have six points to their name after winning the one-off Test and the first WT20I and a win in the second T20I would mean that they retain the Ashes having won it in 2022.

Hence, England need to bring their ‘A game’ to the fore to make a comeback in the series. As the two teams prepare themselves to lock horns in the second WT20I, let’s take a look at the top three bowlers to watch out for from England:

Sarah Glenn

The wrist-spinner picked was among the wickets in the first WT20I as she registered figures of 2/33 in four overs. Glenn dismissed Ashleigh Gardner (31 off 23) and Grace Harris (0 off 1) during death overs to bring her team back into the game. The 23-year-old has picked 57 wickets in 47 matches of her WT20I career and will be hoping for another exceptional outing in the second game.

Sophie Ecclestone

The left-arm spinner was the pick of the bowlers for her side in the first game as she returned figures of 2/24 in 3.5 overs. She picked up the wickets of Tahlia McGrath (40 off 29) to break a crucial partnership in the middle overs and later dismissed Annabel Sutherland (9 off 6). Ecclestone is just one wicket away from completing 100 wickets in WT20Is and will be eager to hit the milestone in the second game.

Lauren Bell

The right-arm seamer picked up 2/32 in her four-over spell in the first WT20I as she picked up the big scalps of Alyssa Healy (5 off 6) and Ellyse Perry (7 off 6). The 22-year-old has shown enough promise in her short career so far and will be eager to come up with another impressive performance and bowl her team to victory in the second WT20I.
