Following SAD Chief’s ‘Jungle Raj’ remarks against Bhagwant Mann, Kabaddi player shot dead in Punjab

The incident led to a political row between Aam Aadmi party government led by Bhagwant Mann and Sukhbir Singh Badal, the chief of Shiromani Akali Dal. 

According to the reports, a Kabaddi player was shot down by unknown assailants in Kapurthala district of Punjab. The reports suggest that the incident happened few days back but has come to light after the assailants threw the body parts of the man in front of his own house. The incident has shocked the people of Punjab.

Following the alleged murder, there has been a political row in Punjab between Sukhbir Singh Badal, the chief of Shiromani Akali Dal, and the Aam Aadmi party government, led by Bhagwant Mann. The SAD chief Badal urged Mann to resign, stating that there is a ‘Jungle Raj’ in Punjab. Badal took to X (Formerly known as Twitter) and criticized the government. 

“Shocked to learn about the brutal killing of a young Kabaddi player at Vill Dhilwan in Kapurthala. See the level of fearlessness of the murderers; they knocked at the door and told the parents: “Aah maar ditta tuhada Sher putt”. This isn’t an isolated incident,” wrote the SAD chief wrote on X, as he criticized the murder of the Kabaddi player. 

Badal further questioned the law and order in the state of Punjab under the rule of Mann. “There is complete Jungle Raj prevailing in Punjab, where murders, loot, snatchings and robberies are becoming an everyday affair. It’s a proven fact that @BhagwantMann is unable to handle the situation. He should step down without any further delay,” added SAD chief. According to the reports, no one was arrested in the case.
