The two times Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Champions are arguably one of the most successful franchises in the history of the tournament. They became the second team to win the tournament multiple times after Patna Pirates who have won the title on three occasions. After winning the inaugural season of the tournament, the franchise went on to register their second title by defeating Puneri Paltan in the final match of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League season 9.
The PKL’s defending champion Jaipur Pink Panthers have now decided not to change their coaching staff and to stick with Sanjeev Baliyan as their Head coach for the upcoming tenth season of the tournament. The addition of Arun Kumar to the coaching staff as the new assistant coach will certainly help the Jaipur franchise excel in the seasons to come.
Previously, Arun Kumar, who was earlier associated with the Uttar Pradesh team that went on to win the gold medal in the National Games, has joined the Pink Panthers as the assistant coach which was also confirmed by the Jaipur Pink Panthers official Instagram Handle. The franchise posted a picture of both Sanjeev Baliyan as well as Arun Kumar on their social media handle.
With the tenth season of PKL rumoured to begin somewhere around November 2023, the rumours regarding the retentions have certainly increased. Franchises are still finalizing the composition of their coaching staff for the next season. All of the teams will begin the process of retention and preparation for the ensuing player auction once they have chosen their coaches.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers won the last Pro Kabaddi League season, therefore they might not make many roster adjustments. The majority of the players that helped Jaipur win last year would want to be in coach Sanjeev Baliyan’s side for PKL 10, and they have not replaced their head coach either.
It will also be interesting to suspect how the newly appointed assistant coach Arun Kumar performs. In addition to it, it will also be fascinating to see how Rahul Chaudhari, who won PKL with Jaipur in Season 9 also played under Arun’s guidance for Uttar Pradesh in the National Games.
