Jaipur Pink Panthers emerged victorious against Haryana Steelers in the 10th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Playing in front of their home crowd, Jaipur won the match pretty comfortably against the Steelers. It seems like the Pink Panthers are good at defending their title. At the start of the season, many wondered if they could achieve the feat. But it seems like they can defend their title.
It was the 10th win in a row for Jaipur, who have now made winning a habit, just like Puneri Paltan. The two teams have clearly separated themselves from the other teams. It was Jaipur’s 4th win at home. The match was won due to the defense of Jaipur which was exceptional. Three players from the home side ended up claiming 4 or more tackle points in the match. It turned out to be the difference between the two sides.
While Ankush claimed 5 tackle points, Reza Mirbagheri and Sunil Kumar claimed 4 tackle points each. Both sides are known for their prowess in defense. It was visible in the way they operated in the early part of the match, where it seemed like no side was interested in claiming raid points. In fact, only 5 raid points were scored by either team in the first half of the match. Everything turned in the 2nd half.
Arjun Deshwal claims 7th Super 10 in a row
Jaipur always dominated the game. Their defense was so on point and committed no errors. It meant that Haryana had to pull sensational feats from their own efforts. Jaipur had a lead of over 10 points for the most part and held on to it towards the end. It was their star raider, Arjun Deshwal, who shined with his raiding. Jaipur’s skipper registered 7th Super 10 of the season for himself.
In his last raid, Arjun claimed the Super 10 and ensured that the side extended their winning streak. With the win, Jaipur climbed up to the top spot in the points table. For Haryana, raiding lacked big time. They need to come up with better plans in the upcoming games to stay alive in the tournament. After winning a lot of games in the first 3 weeks, Haryana seems to have lost steam.
