The Krantijyot Mahila Pratistan Yuva Kabaddi Series 2023 kicked off in style with four exciting matches on the inaugural day on March 30 at the Rajaram Bhiku Pathare Stadium in Kharadi, Pune, Maharashtra.
In the opening match, the Pune District Palani Tuskers edged past the Kolhapur District Tadoba Tigers by a solitary point with a scoreline of 30-29. Bhushan Tapkir was the star performer for the Pune team as he scored eight raid points, which proved to be crucial in their narrow win.
In the second match of the day, the Mumbai Upnagar Murthal Magnets dominated the Latur District Vijayanagara Veers, winning the match by a whopping margin of 70-21. Akash Rudele led the charge for Mumbai with an impressive tally of 14 raid points, while Alankar Patil chipped in with six tackle points.
The Ahmednagar District Periyar Panthers opened their account in Pool A with a hard-fought victory over the Palghar District Kaziranga Rhinos. In a closely contested match, the Periyar Panthers managed to come out on top with a scoreline of 39-31.
In the fourth match of the day, the Raigad District Maratha Marvels faced off against the Sangli District Sindh Sonics. The Maratha Marvels were in complete control throughout the match and managed to secure a comfortable victory with a scoreline of 47-19. Ajay More was the standout performer for the Raigad team, scoring seven tackle points.
