Patna Pirates extended their winning streak with another triumph, defeating the home side U.P. Yoddhas 48-41 in their Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 encounter at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Monday. Raider Sachin Tanwar played a pivotal role with his outstanding Super 10, including two tackle points, while captain Neeraj Kumar’s High 5 contributed significantly to securing the victory. Despite a spirited performance of a season-best 21 points by league legend and U.P. Yoddhas skipper Pardeep Narwal against his former team, Patna Pirates emerged victorious.

Early in the game, Patna Pirates exerted pressure on the home side, managing to All-Out U.P. Yoddhas within the first 10 minutes. This strategic move gave Patna Pirates an eight-point lead, capitalizing on several unsuccessful raids by the Uttar Pradesh-based team. The focus was on the leading Pro Kabaddi League raider, Pardeep Narwal, who had a positive start to the match with a couple of successful raids.

On the Patna Pirates’ side, raider Sachin played a crucial role, accumulating eight raid points in the first half. However, his momentum was halted by the resilient defenders of U.P. Yoddhas, who began to make a comeback, highlighted by a Super Tackle from substitute Shivam Chaudhary. Despite U.P. Yoddhas’ efforts, it was not sufficient to prevent the dominance of Patna Pirates, who secured a comfortable 12-point lead at halftime. This was further emphasized by a late All-Out against U.P. Yoddhas, marking the second one in the first half for the Pirates.

UP Yoddhas fought back in the second half

The second half commenced on an impressive note for the home team as Pardeep Narwal showcased his prowess as one of the league’s premier raiders. In a dazzling Super Raid, he swiftly eliminated three opposing defenders and reached his Super 10 with remarkable finesse. Under the leadership of veteran defender Neeraj Kumar, the Patna Pirates faced a challenging start in the initial five minutes of the second half. However, they regained momentum after Neeraj successfully executed a Super Tackle against Pardeep. Subsequently, Manjeet made a significant contribution in a Do-or-Die raid, leading to Nitesh Kumar, Vijay Malik, and Sumit finding themselves off the mat.

Shortly thereafter, Manjeet delivered another crucial blow as the Yoddhas faced their third All-Out in the match, allowing the Pirates to establish an insurmountable lead. Despite the Yoddhas managing to All Out the Pirates in the final two minutes of the clash, it had little impact, and the Patna-based team ultimately secured a seven-point victory over their rivals, with Sachin’s outstanding all-around performance stealing the spotlight by the end of the match.
