For the upcoming 10th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), which will begin on December 2nd, U Mumba has confirmed the hiring of four talented young players with the goal of cultivating rising talent.
Sombir Goswami, Mukilan Shanmugam, Gokulakannan M, and Bittu Banwala were chosen as players from among the many aspirants who took part in the trials conducted in Mumbai.
These four people have tremendous potential, which might allow them to start for numerous PKL teams. For U Mumba, they are going to seen in a variety of roles.
The team’s current defensive strength is anticipated to be strengthened with the additions of Sombir Goswami (left corner), Gokulakannan M (right cover), Mukilan Shanmugam (left cover), and Bittu Banwala (right corner). Coaches Gholamreza Mazandarani, KC Suthar, Jeeva Kumar, and CEO of U Mumba Suhail Chandhok oversaw the selection of the New Young Players (NYP), who were all actively involved in evaluating each candidate at the NYP selection camp.
Chandhok highlighted his enthusiasm for the large pool of vibrant talent available as a result of programmes like the Yuva Kabaddi Series, which consistently develops top-tier players from all around India who are ready for PKL action. He said, “It’s amazing to see such large young talent pool with the likes of the Yuva Kabaddi Series providing a constant supply of high-quality, PKL-ready players from across the country.”
Chandhok expressed happiness with identifying players that fit their criteria and might perhaps start for a Pro Kabaddi squad, although being disappointed that they could only choose four guys out of hundreds. He added, “It’s a pity we could only select four out of the hundreds who turned up for the trials but I am happy that we could find players as per our requirements that could be good enough to fit a starting 7 of a Pro Kabaddi team.”
He said that their coaching team is committed to building an impenetrable defence, thus he is happy that they have recruited four exceptionally talented young defenders. He ended it by saying, “Our coaches are focused on building an unbreakable defence, and hence I am happy that we managed to get four highly talented young defenders.”
