Jasprit Bumrah produced a moment of magic to dismiss Shadman Islam in Bangladesh’s first innings on Day 2 of the 1st Test at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Jasprit Bumrah’s masterclass delivery dismisses Shadman Islam

In just the first over of the innings, Bumrah executed a perfect setup. Bowling several outswingers, he lured Shadman into believing the next ball would follow suit. However, Bumrah switched angles and came around the wicket, delivering a length ball that held its line and straightened towards the off stump. Expecting movement away, Shadman shouldered arms, but the ball crashed into the off-stump, leaving him stunned and giving India their first breakthrough. The precise delivery showed Bumrah’s mastery of seam bowling, with the change in angle and subtle lack of swing completely deceiving the batter. Celebrating with arms raised, Bumrah was joined by his teammates as the Chennai crowd erupted in applause.
