Washington Sundar pulls out of runup

During the 33rd over of the Sri Lankan innings, an amusing sequence unfolded. Washington Sundar, preparing to bowl, had to abort his delivery just as he entered the final stride. The next ball, Sundar repeated the action, stopping just before delivering and rubbing his hands on the pitch to get rid of sweat.

Rohit, stationed in the slips, found Sundar’s aborted deliveries amusing. Unable to contain his humor, Rohit hilariously ran towards Sundar, mockingly trying to hit him. This playful act not only entertained the crowd at the stadium but also delighted fans watching or streaming the game. Mohammed Siraj gives a good start

Earlier in the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat. However, they got off to a poor start as opener Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for a golden duck by Mohammed Siraj on the first ball of the match. Siraj’s early breakthrough set the tone for India’s bowling attack.

Sundar stages a comeback

Despite the early setback, Sri Lanka managed to recover as Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis formed a solid partnership. The duo added 74 runs for the second wicket, providing stability to the Sri Lankan innings. However, the Indian bowlers, led by Sundar, staged a strong comeback. Sundar ended up being the most successful bowler for India, taking three wickets for just 30 runs in his 10 overs, including a maiden, ensuring Sri Lanka’s progress was kept in check.
