The enthralling action will continue in the IPL 2023 as Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 50 on Saturday, May 06 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Both teams are coming into the fixture having won their previous encounters.
Delhi Capitals are not having a memorable season so far as they’re languishing at the bottom of the points table with three wins from nine matches. They handed a surprise defeat to the defending champions Gujarat Titans in their last fixture defending a low score of 130.
The David Warner-led side started their campaign with five consecutive losses and finally found some rhythm as they beat KKR and SRH back-to-back in their sixth and seventh match respectively. Their batting has been in shambles all season with captain Warner and Axar Patel carrying them in most of the matches.
With the ball, Mitchell Marsh, Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant Sharma have done well. With just five matches remaining in the league stage, Delhi need to win almost every fixture to stay alive in the competition and can’t afford to lose going forward.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore are fifth on the ladder with five wins from nine games. They beat Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs in their last match which was a low-scoring affair.
Captain Faf du Plessis is enjoying great form with the bat as he’s the leading run-scorer of the season so far with 466 runs to his name from nine innings.
With the ball, Mohammed Siraj is breathing fire as he’s the leading wicket-taker for the team with 15 wickets to his name. With the league stage heading towards an end, RCB will look to win at least three matches out of the remaining five to seal a spot in the play offs.
In the previous fixture between RCB and DC, the Faf du Plessis-led side beat Delhi by 23 runs. Riding high on confidence after beating the defending champions, Delhi will look to take revenge of their previous loss and make an entry into the race for the playoffs.
