Police has arrested another accused in connection to an attempt to murder against a Kabaddi player in Moga. The authorities also claimed to have recovered two .32 bore weapons from the accused identified as Yashman Singh of Bathinda. The police said he was a close associate of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Jagdeep Singh Jagga Dhurkot.
“Yashman, 20, does not have a criminal past, but he was a good shooter (shooting sport) during his school days.
He was held during checking at Shambu border. We also recovered two weapons and 10 cartridges from him,” said Varun Sharma, SSP, Patiala.
Last month, police arrested Sandeep Singh Seepa of Patiala and his accomplice Beant Singh of Moga in the case. The authorities had seized three weapons from them. A case under the Arms Act was also registered against the duo. The police revealed that while committing the crime in October, the accused carried a pigeon net with them to give an impression that they dealt in pet pigeons, but opened fire when the kabaddi player was called out by his mother in Dhurkot.
