The controversy began after MI’s 13th fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where Rohit was seen having a conversation with KKR’s coaching staff member Abhishek Nayar. The audio from this chat was posted by KKR on their social media handles. Fans quickly interpreted the conversation, speculating that Rohit was discussing his departure from MI after the ongoing season. The led to a social media frenzy, prompting KKR to take down the video.
Rohit’s playful plea to broadcasters
A few days after the incident, ahead of MI’s match against LSG, Rohit was spotted having a casual chat with Dhawal Kulkarni. Noticing the recording, Rohit humorously pleaded with the broadcasters to stop the audio recording
“Bhai audio band karo haan, already ek audio ne mera waat laga diya (Brother please close the audio, one audio has already made things difficult for me).” This playful request quickly went viral, adding a light-hearted twist to the previous controversy.
