Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) square off against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Monday, April 13.

The Orange Army has played four matches so far, winning one and losing three. They are languishing at No. 7 on the points table. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have been in red-hot form, winning all four games they have played. The inaugural champions are sitting pretty at the top of the points table.

Hyderabad’s bowling unit is not very formidable. Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga, and Harshal Patel were the three frontline pacers who played the last game against Punjab Kings. They have economy rates of 10.91, 11.36, and 12.26, respectively, in IPL 2026. However, the batting unit has been in good form, with Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen all looking in decent touch.

On the other hand, the Royals have arguably the most balanced side in the competition. Their openers – Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal – have taken the bowlers to the cleaners. In Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger, Rajasthan have a potent new-ball pair, with Ravi Bishnoi to back them up with his spin mastery.

Here are 3 player battles for SRH vs RR, Match 21 of IPL 2026:

3. Ravi Bishnoi vs Heinrich Klaasen

Ravi Bishnoi has been in red-hot form this season. In four matches, the wily leg-spinner has picked up nine wickets at an average of 12.67. He has a decent economy rate of 8.77. Bishnoi will have a crucial role to play through the middle overs.

On the other hand, Heinrich Klaasen might not have been at his free-flowing best, but he has still maanged to score 184 runs in four innings at an average of 46 and a strike rate of 140.46. He is a phenomenal player of spin and his battle with Bishnoi will be intriguing to watch.

2. Jofra Archer vs Abhishek Sharma

Jofra Archer has bowled with a lot of steam this season. His delivery to dismiss Phil Salt off the first ball in the last game was a snorter. In four games, he has picked up five wickets. Archer will look to strike with the new ball on Monday.

Abhishek Sharma, on the other hand, would want to put Archer under pressure with his exemplary ball-striking talent. In four matches, Abhishek has scored 129 runs at an average of 32.25 and a strike rate of 218.64.

1. Jaydev Unadkat vs Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Jaydev Unadkat has taken four wickets in four matches at an average of 35. He will have his task cut out when he faces a rampaging opening duo of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Unadkat will look to use his experience and change-ups to keep Suryavanshi guessing. If someone has followed the left-arm seamer’s career closely, he would know that the Porbandar-born doesn’t shy away from challenges.

Coming to Suryavanshi, the 15-year-old has proved that he is not a one-season wonder. He has gone from strength to strength this season and wowed the cricket fraternity with his stunning bat swing. He is the current holder of the Orange Cap, with 200 runs from four innings at an average of 50 and a strike rate of 266.67.
