In a high-stakes encounter that carried significant weight for the playoff race, GT’s tactical superiority and individual brilliance overwhelmed a struggling Hyderabad side. While the Ahmedabad crowd initially feared a low total, a resilient batting performance followed by a clinical bowling masterclass led by Jason Holder ensured the Titans moved up the table in style.

Sundar reached his 50 off just 33 deliveries, striking seven fours and a maximum. His synergy with Sudharsan for the fourth wicket added a crucial 50 runs in just 33 balls, propelling GT past the 150-mark. Despite a disciplined opening spell from Pat Cummins (2/20), Sakib Hussain’s late wickets couldn’t prevent GT from finishing at 168/5. On a surface that offered some grip, 168 was deemed a competitive, above-par total.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad chase never found its rhythm, collapsing under the relentless pressure of GT’s pace attack. Kagiso Rabada then tore through the top order, dismissing Abhishek Sharma (6), Ishan Kishan (11), and Ravichandran Smaran (9) to leave SRH reeling at 32/4 within the powerplay.

The middle-order collapse was orchestrated by the ‘Big Man’ from Barbados, Jason Holder. Holder’s hit-the-deck lengths and subtle variations proved impossible to navigate. He first claimed the big fish, Heinrich Klaasen (14), before cleaning up Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shivang Kumar. Holder finished with remarkable figures of 3/20 in 4 overs, maintaining an economy of 5.00.

As the pressure mounted, SRH’s tail wagged briefly with Cummins contributing 19, but it was too little, too late. Rashid Khan applied the finishing touches, stumping Hinge to bundle SRH out for a meager 86 runs in 14.5 overs. This victory not only boosts GT’s Net Run Rate significantly but also sends a clear message to the rest of the league: the Titans are peaking at exactly the right moment.
