The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 once again delivered a moment of brilliance in the field as Gujarat Titans (GT) wicketkeeper Jos Buttler produced a sensational catch during the high-voltage clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With both teams fighting for crucial points in the race for the playoffs, the encounter quickly turned into a nightmare for Hyderabad’s batting lineup.
Jos Buttler’s sharp diving catch sends Heinrich Klaasen packing
The spectacular moment arrived at the beginning of the 11th over when Jason Holder continued his disciplined spell for Gujarat Titans. Bowling a hard back-of-a-length delivery, Holder extracted extra bounce from the sluggish Ahmedabad surface as Heinrich Klaasen attempted to work the ball towards the leg side.
However, the ball climbed awkwardly and took the top edge of Klaasen’s bat instead of finding the middle. Buttler reacted instantly behind the stumps, sprinting to his right while keeping his eyes firmly fixed on the swirling ball.
The England wicketkeeper called loudly for the catch before launching into a full-length dive to complete a brilliant low grab. The Ahmedabad crowd erupted as Buttler held onto the ball cleanly despite the difficult angle and late movement. Klaasen’s dismissal for 14 off 16 deliveries left SRH struggling badly at 56/6, with the Titans tightening their grip on the contest through relentless bowling and sharp fielding.

Gujarat Titans dominate SRH with clinical bowling performance
The Titans’ bowlers produced a complete performance after the batters posted a competitive total of 168/5 earlier in the evening. Sai Sudharsan once again anchored the innings beautifully with a composed 61 off 44 balls, while Washington Sundar provided the finishing push with a quickfire, unbeaten half-century.
SRH’s bowlers, particularly Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, managed to keep Gujarat in check for large phases of the innings by picking up two wickets each. However, the target proved far more challenging on a surface offering uneven bounce and seam movement.
Kagiso Rabada led the bowling charge brilliantly for GT, finishing with impressive figures of 3/28 in his four overs. Holder continued his excellent IPL 2026 campaign as well, adding three wickets to take his tally to 13 wickets in just six matches. At one stage, SRH were left reeling at 71/7 with skipper Pat Cummins fighting a lone battle in the middle. With this victory, the Gujarat Titans now move to the top of the IPL 2026 points table.
