ENG vs SL, T20I Series Broadcast and LIVE Streaming details

England and Sri Lanka are set to begin a three-match T20I series on Tuesday, September 15, with both teams entering the contest after significant changes to their squads and leadership groups. While Harry Brook continues to lead the English side, Sri Lanka will turn to Charith Asalanka after regular captain Kusal Mendis was ruled out with a hamstring injury. With key players unavailable on both sides, the series is expected to provide opportunities for several players to make an impact.

England face key absences ahead of the series

England will take the field without some important names in their T20I setup. Explosive opener Phil Salt has been ruled out after suffering a quad injury, while all-rounder Sam Curran will also miss the series. Young batter Jacob Bethell is another notable absentee, with the promising player unavailable following knee surgery. His absence removes another attacking option from England’s lineup as the hosts prepare for the three-match battle.

Despite those setbacks, England have added fresh options to their squad. Tom Banton is back in contention, giving the hosts another aggressive batting choice at the top of the order. Banton’s return could provide England with additional firepower as they look to establish control of the series on home soil.

One of the most notable additions to the England setup is Aneurin Donald, who has received his maiden international call-up after making an impression in the Vitality Blast. Donald’s performances in domestic T20 cricket have earned him an opportunity at the international level, and the upcoming series could mark an important step in his career.

Sri Lanka hit by injury setbacks

Sri Lanka have been forced into changes of their own before the series. Regular captain Mendis has been ruled out because of a hamstring injury, leaving Asalanka to take charge of the Islanders. Mendis’ absence represents a significant blow for Sri Lanka, particularly with the team preparing for a short three-match series where every game carries considerable weight. The leadership change also means Asalanka will have to assume greater responsibility as Sri Lanka attempt to cope with the loss of their regular skipper.

Pacer Binura Fernando is another player unavailable to the visitors after being ruled out with a back injury. His absence further reduces Sri Lanka’s options heading into the opening game.
