India faced Afghanistan in the third and final T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on September 18, with the hosts already having wrapped up the series. Abhishek Sharma had earlier put India in command with a breathtaking century, but Afghanistan’s chase quickly began to fall apart under pressure.
After losing two early wickets, Afghanistan sent Darwish Rasooli to the crease in the fifth over. The batter had little time to settle, though, as Jasprit Bumrah produced a delivery that showcased exactly why he remains one of the most dangerous fast bowlers in T20 cricket.

Bumrah came charging in and delivered the ball at around 143kph, targeting the blockhole with pinpoint accuracy. Rasooli tried to deal with the delivery but could not get his bat down in time as the yorker crashed into his toe before ricocheting onto the stumps.
Rasooli was dismissed for a duck after facing just one delivery, leaving Afghanistan three wickets down in the fifth over. The wicket added to India’s early dominance and left the visitors with a huge task as they attempted to chase 222.

Abhishek Sharma’s record-breaking century powers India to huge win
India had earlier posted 221 for 7 after Abhishek produced one of the most destructive T20I innings of his career. The left-hander smashed 108 from just 34 balls, reaching his century in 30 deliveries to register the fastest T20I hundred against a Full Member team and the third-fastest overall.
Abhishek struck 11 sixes and nine fours, while Sanju Samson provided strong support with a second consecutive half-century. India raced to 100 in the powerplay, their highest score in the first six overs of a T20I, before Afghanistan fought back through Rashid Khan and disciplined death bowling.
The visitors never recovered during the chase. Ibrahim Zadran top-scored with 25, but wickets continued to fall regularly after the opening partnership. Nitish Kumar Reddy claimed three wickets, while Ravi Bishnoi also took three as Afghanistan were bowled out for 94. The 127-run victory completed India’s 3-0 series sweep and capped a dominant final match for the hosts.
