The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) 2026 final delivered a fitting conclusion to the inaugural tournament as Edinburgh Castle Rockers lifted the title after defeating Belfast Wolves by seven wickets at The Village in Malahide. Chasing 151 for victory, the Castle Rockers produced a composed batting display, with Andries Gous leading the charge with a superb unbeaten-looking effort of 90 from 61 balls. His match-winning performance earned him the Player of the Match award and powered his side to the championship with eight balls to spare.

Tim Tector anchors Belfast Wolves to competitive total
After winning the toss, Edinburgh Castle Rockers opted to bowl first, hoping their bowling attack could restrict Belfast Wolves to a manageable total. Belfast made a steady start but lost Paul Stirling for eight from 10 balls, putting the onus on Tim Tector and Devon Conway to rebuild the innings.
Tector responded with an excellent knock, scoring 84 runs from 62 deliveries. His innings included nine fours and two sixes as he held the Belfast innings together and provided the majority of the team’s attacking momentum. Conway contributed 29 from 24 balls, including two fours and a six, before departing.
Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for just three, while Lorcan Tucker made six. Harry Manenti added a useful 16 from 14 deliveries towards the end as Belfast Wolves finished on 150/5 from their allotted 20 overs.
Trent Boult was the standout bowler for Edinburgh Castle Rockers, claiming two wickets while conceding only 21 runs from his four overs. Tom Curran, Mark Watt and JJ Smuts picked up one wicket each as the Castle Rockers kept Belfast from producing a bigger total.

Andries Gous leads Edinburgh to championship glory
Edinburgh Castle Rockers began the chase positively, with Ross Adair providing early momentum by smashing 23 from just 14 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Smuts made 15 from 23 deliveries, but the foundation had already been laid for Gous to take control of the chase.
Gous delivered the defining innings of the final, striking 90 runs from 61 balls. His knock featured eight fours and four sixes, combining controlled strokeplay with timely aggression as Edinburgh steadily moved towards the target.
Brandon McMullen provided valuable support with 17 from 12 balls, hitting three fours, while Mitchell Santner finished with two from two. Edinburgh Castle Rockers eventually reached 151/3 in 18.4 overs, completing a seven-wicket victory with eight balls remaining.
For Belfast Wolves, Mark Adair, Matthew Humphreys and Gavin Hoey claimed one wicket each, but the bowling attack struggled to contain Gous during the decisive stages of the chase. The victory crowned Edinburgh Castle Rockers champions of the European T20 Premier League 2026, while Gous’ commanding 90-run knock ensured he finished the final as its standout performer.
