India won the opening T20I by eight wickets in Lucknow before the West Indies levelled the series with a six-wicket victory in Ranchi. The Men in Blue then regained the lead with a 14-run win in the third match in Indore.
India entered the fourth T20I in Hyderabad with a 2-1 advantage and an opportunity to seal the series. However, the West Indies produced a strong batting performance, posting 247/3 after being put into bat. The Indian batters fought back but finished on 223, falling 24 runs short of the target. The defeat brought the series level at 2-2 and set up a decisive final encounter in Bengaluru.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s cheeky remark at the airport
Ahead of the series decider, young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi was spotted at the airport alongside his Indian teammates. The teenage sensation caught attention with a cheeky remark while being recorded, adding a light-hearted moment ahead of the crucial encounter in Bengaluru.
Suryavanshi was seen wearing a black hoodie and black track pants while carrying his luggage at the airport. As someone recorded him, the youngster made a cheeky comment in Hindi, saying, “Reel ke chakkar main thuk jaoge aap.”
The video comes ahead of the fifth T20I between India and the West Indies, scheduled to take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, October 17. Despite travelling with the squad, Suryavanshi has not featured in India’s playing XI in any of the first four matches. The team management has continued with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson as its opening pair throughout the series.

Suryavanshi’s recent performances for India
With the series tied at 2-2, India will have to win the final match to secure the series. It remains to be seen whether the management will consider changes to the playing XI and give the young batter an opportunity. The 15-year-old last featured in India’s playing XI during the Asian Games 2026. He also enjoyed an impressive run during India’s tour of Zimbabwe, scoring 151 runs in three matches at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 196.10.
His tally included two half-centuries, highlighting his ability to score quickly at the top of the order. However, the team management has opted for other opening combinations during the ongoing T20I series against the West Indies. With the series on the line, Suryavanshi could be an option if India decide to make a change for the final game.
