The landmark dismissal came in the 29th over of Zimbabwe’s innings when Nabi bowled to Wesley Madhevere. The experienced off-spinner dragged his delivery shorter, and the ball turned sharply into the batter, who had advanced down the track in an attempt to play his shot. Madhevere was beaten on the inside edge, with the ball deflecting off his front pad towards the slip cordon.
Gurbaz reacted swiftly, collecting the ball from well outside off stump before whipping off the bails in a flash. Madhevere was stranded outside his crease and had no chance of getting back in time. The dismissal was recorded as Madhevere stumped Gurbaz bowled Nabi for three off six deliveries. It also secured Nabi’s 300th international wicket, making the moment particularly memorable for the Afghanistan veteran.
