The presence of the two youngsters, sons of former India greats Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid, has attracted considerable attention ahead of the continental tournament. Lakshya Raichandani will lead the side, while Yashbardhan Chauhan has been appointed vice-captain.

Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid earn places after promising performances
Both Aaryavir and Anvay have earned their places in the squad following their recent appearances against Australia Under-19s. The two youngsters have shown encouraging signs with the bat and will be keen to make their opportunities count on a bigger stage.
Aaryavir, a top-order batter, featured in the one-day series against Australia and registered scores of 28, 47 and 34. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Anvay scored 38 and nine in the two matches he played during the series. He had earlier produced an impressive performance against Sri Lanka, scoring 87 off just 67 deliveries in the final one-day match of that tour.
Their selection adds considerable interest to India’s campaign, although the team will be looking towards the entire squad to deliver consistent performances throughout the competition.

India enter tournament after dominant Australia series
India’s recent results have provided plenty of encouragement ahead of the Asia Cup. The young Indian side defeated Australia 2-0 in the four-day series before completing a convincing 3-0 clean sweep in the one-day matches during September and October.
Captain Raichandani was particularly impressive in the four-day encounters, accumulating 250 runs across three innings. His standout contribution was a magnificent 240 in the opening match, underlining his importance to India’s batting department. Vice-captain Yashbardhan also enjoyed an excellent one-day series, finishing as India’s leading run-scorer with 176 runs in two innings. His tally included a century in the second match.
Other players have also made valuable contributions in recent assignments. Top-order batters Kushagra Ojha and Manal Chauhan have shown their potential, while right-arm medium pacer Mohit Ulva has impressed with both bat and ball. Ulva’s remarkable 92 off 84 deliveries from the No. 10 position in the first four-day match against Australia was one of the standout performances.
Before facing Australia, India had defeated Sri Lanka 1-0 in a two-match four-day series. However, they lost the accompanying one-day series 2-1.
