Bangladesh Tour of West Indies 2022 Bangladesh vs West Indies Team News, Pitch Report, and the Match Prediction

Jul 3, 2022

The first Test Match between West Indies and Bangladesh ended up being a completely one-sided affair as Bangladesh’s batters failed to put up a fight. West Indies ran through their batting to win by seven wickets with plenty of time left in the match.

Can Bangladesh turn things around in the second Test? The next cricket betting sites around the world are all offering some pretty short odds on the West Indies. Let us see if there are any betting opportunities to explore.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for West Indies vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Match 2022. The match is going to be played at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia starting on the 3rd July 2022.

WI VS BAN TEAM PREVIEWS

WEST INDIES

West Indies won the first Test largely on the back of its bowling performance in the first innings. Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Alzarri Joseph, and even Kyle Mayers all bowled brilliantly with the Duke’s ball to bowl out Bangladesh for just 103.

This same bowling attack is going to be the biggest strength that the West Indies have in the second Test as well. The pitch at the Darren Sammy Stadium tends to have more bounce and pace than any other venue in the West Indies.

This means that the fast bowlers are going to be in business once more. We love Jayden Seales and Kemar Roach for this match and would recommend betting on them in the different betting markets available.

The batting effort by the West Indies was better than Bangladesh but it was far from convincing. Kraigg Brathwaite scored 94 in the first inning and was supported by Jermaine Blackwood. Neither of them got to 100 though and wickets kept falling throughout.

West Indies only had to chase a tiny target to win the match but was reduced to 9-3 in the second inning. The positive is that some batters got some runs but the negative is that West Indies kept losing wickets regularly and none of the batters turned their starts into big scores.

We would bet on Brathwait, Campbell, or Bonner to score some runs in this next match but only if the Over/Under line seems to be fair.

BANGLADESH

Bangladesh’s captain, Shakib Al Hasan, basically held up the Bangladeshi batting on his own. He went past fifty in both innings and was easily the only player that seemed to have some plan as to how to approach his inning. Even if he was taking risks, he was clear in his mind.

The rest of the batters, especially the top order, have a lot to think about. Facing the Duke’s ball is never easy since it tends to swing quite a lot and for a lot longer than other balls. However, the second-inning effort would have given some hope to the Bangladeshi batters.

We are still not going to bet on any one of them. Betting on Shakib Al Hasan to be the Top Batsman for Bangladesh is the only bet that we would consider.

Khaled Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman asked some tough questions of the West Indian batters. We thought Ebadot Hossain was a bit off his rhythm and that hurt Bangladesh. It was a bit surprising that Mehidy Hasan ended up being the highest wicket-taker in the first inning on a pitch that was not turning that much.

The conditions for this next match should be even more seam friendly and so we would recommend picking between Khaled Ahmed or Mustafizur Rahman for the Top Bowler Bangladesh betting market.

MATCH DETAILS:

Venue: Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica
Date and Time: July 2, 2022, 11:00 PM IST

PITCH REPORT

The West Indies team has not played much T20 cricket at the venue and both teams would be looking to bowl first to get an idea about the pitch. However, the pitch is expected to help the batters while the bowlers might have to vary their line and lengths to put a stop to the flow of runs.

PROBABLE PLAYING XI

WEST INDIES

Possible XI: Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran (c and wk), Shamarh Brooks, Rovman Powell, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, Akeal Hosein, Keemo Paul, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy.

BANGLADESH

Possible XI: Liton Das, Shahriar Nafees, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah(c), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan(wk), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahedi Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.

PROBABLE TOP PERFORMERS

PROBABLE THE BEST BATTER OF THE MATCH

NICHOLAS POORAN:

West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran would wish to have a good outing against Bangladesh in the upcoming T20I series. The left-handed batter is an attacking batter but likes to take a few balls before playing the big shots. Pooran would want to play a few match-winning knocks against the deflated Bangladesh side in the upcoming series.

PROBABLE THE BEST BOWLER OF THE MATCH

MUSTAFIZUR RAHMAN:

The left-arm pacer from Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman has been in the international arena for quite a long time, but the batters still struggle to pick his slower deliveries. Rahman is one of the most vital bowlers in the Bangladesh camp and the left-arm seamer would look to scalp some vital wickets in the upcoming series.

Today’s Match Prediction: West Indies to win the match.
