The second ODI between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will be played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on August 7. Zimbabwe leads the three-match series by a 1-0 margin.

The first game was a high-scoring affair. After being asked to bat first, Bangladesh posted a mammoth 303 on the board, losing only two wickets. Their top four batters scored the fifties as the hosts struggled to pick up wickets at regular intervals.

What followed was a batting masterclass from Innocent Kaia and Sikandar Raza as they both smashed centuries and helped their side chase down the massive total in the penultimate over. The Bangladesh bowlers tried hard but could only bag five wickets as they handed Zimbabwe an early lead in the series.

Zimbabwe will be eager to carry forward the winning momentum and seal the series on Sunday itself. Bangladesh will be without the services of Litton Das for the rest of the series and will have to be at their absolute best to keep the series alive.

ZIMBABWE REVIEWS

Zimbabwe won the first ODI match against Bangladesh due to the outstanding performance of their batting order. The bowling department of Zimbabwe was very poor as they leaked 303 runs in 50 overs. Zimbabwe used eight bowlers in the previous match. Richard Ngarava, Victor Nyauchi, W Masakadza, L Jongwe, Ryan Burl, Milton Shumba, Sikandar Raza, and Wesley Madhevere were taking care of the bowling department of Zimbabwe. Nyauchi and Sikandar Raza were the bowlers who picked one wicket each while no other bowlers from the side of Zimbabwe could manage to pick any wicket.

The batting order of Zimbabwe was just superb in the first ODI match of this three matches series. Two batters of Zimbabwe scored centuries in the previous match. They chased the target of 304 runs in 48.2 overs. Sikandar Raza was the most successful batter in the previous match with 135 runs to his name. He faced 109 balls and smashed eight boundaries and six huge sixes during his inning. Innocent Kaia also performed well and scored a century. He scored a total of 110 runs with the help of 11 boundaries and two huge sixes. Luke Jongwe scored 24 runs.

BANGLADESH REVIEWS

The batters of Bangladesh performed well in the first match. They put a handsome total on the board and if the bowling department of Bangladesh give the best performance, they could easily win the match. Bangladesh scored 304 runs in 50 overs. Almost all batters from their side scored runs. Litton Das was the highest run-scorer who was hurt after scoring 81 runs on 89 balls with the help of nine boundaries and one huge six. Anamul also performed well and scored 73 runs on 62 balls. He smashed six boundaries and three huge sixes during his inning. The skipper, Tamim Iqbal was the other batter who put some runs on the board. He scored 62 runs.

Mushfiqur Rahim also performed well with the bat in the previous match. He remained not out after scoring more than 50 runs. The bowling department of Bangladesh failed to give the best performance in the previous match. They failed to defend a big total of 305 runs on the board and leaked this target in 48.2 overs. Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Mehidy Hasan, and Mosaddek Hossain picked one wicket each while Taskin Ahmed and Mahmudullah picked one wicket each.
