They have the best bowlers of T20 cricket like K Mayers, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy, Jason Holder, and Odean Smith. Jason Holder proved the most successful bowler from their side picking two wickets in three overs against just 14 runs. Odean Smith picked one wicket while Obed McCoy, Akeal Hosein, and K Mayers were the bowlers who could not manage to pick any wicket. The batting order of West Indies also failed to give the best performance and scored 118 runs in 20 overs and their full team came back to the pavilion in 18.3 overs while chasing the target of 161 runs. Jason Holder was the only successful batter from their side who scored 38 runs on 33 balls with the help of four boundaries and one huge six. Kyle Mayers scored 20 runs while Brandon King could manage to score 17 runs.

Zimbabwe was good in their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup and beat their favorite team Ireland. They lost the toss and were asked to bat first. They had a poor batting start and lost their key five batters on a total of just 79 runs but after that, Sikandar Raza took the charge and put a handsome total on the board. They scored a total of 174 runs in 20 overs. Sikandar Raza proved the most successful and highest run-scorer from their side scoring 82 runs on just 48 balls with the help of five boundaries and the same huge sixes. Madhevere scored 22 runs while L Jongwe remained not out after scoring 20 runs.
The bowling unit of Zimbabwe also performed well in the first match and defended the target of 175 runs. They leaked 143 runs in 20 overs. Almost all bowlers from their side performed well and played a role in the win. Blessing Muzarabani was the most successful and highest wicket-taker from their side who picked three wickets in four overs against just 23 runs. Tendai Chatara and Richard Ngarava picked two wickets each while Richard Ngarava and Sikandar Raza picked one wicket each. Luke Jongwe was the only bowler from their side who failed to pick any wicket.
