India Women are gearing up to face Australia Women in a one-off Test match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, December 21. The action kicks off at 9:30 AM IST, promising cricket enthusiasts a riveting battle between these two powerhouse teams.

India Women enter the contest on a high note following their commanding 347-run victory against England Women. In the previous Test, India Women showcased their prowess, posting an impressive first-innings total of 428. Notable contributions came from Shubha Satheesh (69), Jemimah Rodrigues (68), Yastika Bhatia (66), and Deepti Sharma (67).

England Women, in response, struggled to reach 136 in their first innings. India’s dominance continued as they declared their second innings at 186-6 and subsequently bowled out England Women for 131, securing a comprehensive win.

Head-to-head stats:

Out of the ten matches played between these two sides, Australia have emerged victorious four times, while six matches have ended in draws, leaving India still on the quest for that elusive Test win. In the last five matches, Australian women have triumphed three times, firmly holding their dominance over the Indian team.

Wankhede Stadium’s Pitch & Weather Report:

Talking about the Wankhede pitch, it’s anticipated to offer some early support for fast bowlers initially. But historically, this pitch has tended to be more favorable for batters, offering minimal assistance to the bowlers. However, as the match progresses, spinners could come into play, especially after the third day of play.

The weather at Wankhede Stadium is predicted to be quite good for the whole match, with a temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius and 32 percent humidity.
