By a margin of 155 runs, Pakistan defeated Hong Kong with a duo of Shahdab Khan and Mohammad Rizwan clinched with 7 wickets between them to wrap up in 5 overs.

The men in green booked the last berth in the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2022. Hong Kong was blown away by a deadly combination of pace and spin and was rolled over for 38.

It was the biggest T20I win in history for Pakistan. It took 64 balls for Pakistan to wrap the innings up after putting 193 on the board earlier in the game.

Pakistan, Super Fours clash with India

India will then kick-of their Super-4 schedule by facing off Pakistan on September 4. In the first Group A, India defeated their archrivals encounter and avenged the loss of the T20 World Cup.

Presently, the huge rivalry is likely to commence one more time as IND and PAK clash is bound to happen for the second time in this season’s Asia Cup. India will seek to keep their impressive form of going against rivals Pakistan.

Super Fours

Pakistan joins Afghanistan, India and Sri Lanka to round up Super 4.

In the final Super-4 match, India will play with Afghanistan on September 8. Afghans were the first team to confirm a place in the Super-4 stage of Asia Cup 2022. Mohammad Nabi-led squad have so far played a perfect brand of cricket. Now, it is just about continuing the same spur during the Super-4 stage. Although, India and Afghanistan met three times in the T20I scheme and the incumbent has a perfect record.

Player update

Former batsman Wasim Jaffer, has said that the absence of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is a cause of concern for India in the Asia Cup 2022.

On September 2, the Board of Control for Cricket in India issued an official statement confirming that the star Jadeja has a right knee injury and has been ruled out of the tournament.

Jadeja played a key role in India’s victory over Pakistan and Hong Kong in the ongoing Asia Cup. It was also mentioned that Jadeja has been injured frequently, lately.

The Indian domestic cricket Legend, Jaffer further said that the India National Cricket Team are lucky to have a very good replacement for Jadeja – Axar Patel.

Axar Patel is a like-for-like of Jadeja, as the way he batted in West Indies and the way he played some crucial knocks. Patel is also known as a very good bowler.

On the other hand, head coach Rahul Dravid, promoted Jadeja to number four to keep the left-right combination going in the top six.

Pakistan squad, on its part, is also likely to score more in the first 10 overs. Mohammed Rizwan and Babar Azam have had all the success while chasing but batting first has not exactly been their strong suit for both.

In all, another Super Sunday could well be on the cards as the two bitter neighbors are ready to faceoff.
