IPL2022 came to the last week of the league phase with every team scheduled to play their last matches. LSG started the season in good fashion but has faced a roadblock recently losing back-to-back matches against GT & RR. They have been pushed to third place and they are almost assured of their place in the play-offs unless a miracle pushes them out. KKR on the other hand are struggling in the bottom half and they need to win this match and hope several other results go their way to have a chance in the play-offs. We expect a cracking contest between two sides with a lot at stake.

KKR batters have chipped with little cameos to take their team to 160+ totals in the last 2 games. Venkatesh Iyer, Rahane, Rinku Singh, and Sam Billings have chipped in with vital 20s & 30s to build partnerships effectively. Andre Russell has been their wrecker in chief as evident from 28-ball 49 runs in the last game.

Their pace trio of Andre Russell, Tim Southee, and Umesh Yadav have chipped in with wickets consistently in the powerplay to derail the opposition in the absence of Pat Cummins last game. The spin duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine are back together and pose a serious threat to the opposition in the middle overs.

Top players to bet on: Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Tim Southee

The LSG batting line-up has failed to put up a good show with the bat for the second time in 2 matches. KL Rahul and De Kock have been prolific run-scorers with the trio of Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, and Krunal Pandya playing vital cameos in the middle order. Manish Pandey might come in place of Ayush Badoni who is struggling recently.

They have a rich source of bowling resources and used 8 different bowlers in the last game. Ravi Bishnoi picked up 2 wickets while Holder, Avesh Khan, and Badoni chipped in with a wicket each in the match. Dushamntha Chameera and Mohsin khan were inexperienced in the last game. Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis, and Hooda too can contribute with the ball if needed.

Top players to bet on: KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda, Jason Holder

LSG under KL Rahul has garnered 16 points from 13 matches and a win in their final league stage match will ensure their qualification. They are coming off a defeat at the hands of the Rajasthan Royals and would be looking to bounce back against the Knight Riders on Wednesday.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, has got 12 points from 13 matches and they need to win this game with a huge margin to keep their slim chances of qualifications alive while a defeat in this game will end their road in the tournament.

Match: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Super Giants, Match 66
Date: Wednesday, May 18, 2022
Time: 7:30 PM (IST) / 2:00 PM (GMT)
Venue: DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai

Mumbai will have a hot and humid climate with chances of dew settling down in the latter stages of the match. However, no weather interruptions in the match are expected.

DY Patil has a good pitch with good carry and bounces among the 3 venues this season. We expect batters to take a toll on bowlers if they are well set. Spinners might play a big role in middle overs. We expect runs to be around 160-180 runs in this match.

Pitches are starting to slow down owing to the wear and tear and teams batting first are winning matches recently with a 7-3 win-loss record in the last 10 matches. We expect both captains to bat first in this match.

CASE 1: If Kolkata Knight Riders Win the Toss & Bowl First
Lucknow Super Giants Powerplay Score: 45-55
Lucknow Super Giants Overall Score: 170-190
Result Prediction: Lucknow Super Giants win the match.

CASE 2: If Lucknow Super Giants Win the Toss & Bowl First
Kolkata Knight Riders Powerplay Score: 40-50
Kolkata Knight Riders Overall Score: 150-170
Result Prediction: Lucknow Super Giants win the match.

KKR has a strong batting unit, but their inconsistency in the middle order is a big worry for them. They have an excellent bowling attack with quality pace and spin bowlers. LSG has excellent depth in their batting and bowling departments with 4-5 all-rounders but they need to maximize their potential rather than spoil the mix. They will be looking to end KKR`s campaign with a win in this match and get closer to a top-2 finish. We expect LSG to win this match owing to their better team morale and form this season.

LSG will win the match.
