Four-time champions Chennai Super Kings are all set to play their tenth final in the history of IPL 2023. Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, the franchise has done tremendously well and in 2023, the only goal will be to win the summit clash and lift their fifth title in the competition. When it comes to their batting, openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway have done remarkably well so far while Shivam Dube has stepped up from time to time.

Bowlers meanwhile have gone for runs at times but overall have been consistent with their line and length. After a couple of games at the beginning of the tournament, Dhoni talked about how he is not happy with the performance of the young bowlers in the squad but since then, they have stepped up and made the most of the opportunities. So, out of everyone, who are the three bowlers that can create an impact for them in the finals? Let’s dissect –

Tushar Deshpande

Pacer Tushar Deshpande has leaked a lot of runs but eventually managed to pick up 21 wickets in 15 matches and with that, he is currently sixth in the IPL Purple Cap race. His economy of 9.61 remains to be a major concern, especially with the final taking place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the batters get a lot of advantage. However, if Deshpande manages to pick up a few quick wickets, CSK can get an early lead.

 Maheesh Theekshana

Sri Lanka international Maheesh Theekshana has been one of the most impressive players for CSK in the ongoing tournament. In 12 matches so far, the spinner has picked up 11 wickets at an economy rate of 7.91. Thus, he can definitely create an impact for Chennai in the summit clash.

 Deepak Chahar

Out of the three players, Deepak Chahar has the most experience and also helped Chennai win the championship in 2021. This year, the cricketer was dealing with a niggle in the earlier phase of the tournamentbut despite so, he has picked up 12 wickets in nine matches and can prove to be extremely dangerous with the new ball.
