With the fever of T20 league cricket taking the nation by storm, franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are preparing in full-swing for the 16th edition. After the action-packed mini-auction which took place in December 2022, teams will get down to the serious business which will commence on Friday, March 31. Notably, Chennai Super Kings and defending champions Gujarat Titans will play the curtain raiser at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Numerous overseas players will look to stamp their authority in the league and create an impression with their performances. On that note, we take a look at the three overseas pacers to watch out for in the IPL 2023-

Joshua Little

The left-arm pacer became the first Ireland player to earn an IPL contract as he was roped in by defending champions Gujarat Titans for INR 4.4 crore. He took the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia by storm with his impressive bowling exploits. Furthermore, he picked 11 wickets overall at the marquee event and garnered plenty of attention for his performance. Undoubtedly, Gujarat will hope that Joshua fires for the franchise just as he did in the T20 World Cup.

Jofra Archer

Archer joined Mumbai Indians last season however he missed the entirety of the 2022 edition owing to a prolonged injury which confined him to the sidelines. Marking his comeback in the SA20 league in January, Archer was fairly impressive and got the breakthroughs during crunch moments of the game. He will be eager to play a full season with Mumbai and play an impactful role for the side.

Alzarri Joseph

The Caribbean pacer was exceptional in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa. Hitting the deck hard with 140kmph on a consistent basis, Alzarri Joseph has got good number of wickets under his belt. Bought by Gujarat Titans for INR 2.40 crore at the IPL 2022 auction, Joseph will look to have an improved season in 2023. Furthermore, considering his current form, the bowler will look to dent the batting line-ups with his pace.
