The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) delivered a stunning performance on Wednesday night, shattering records and leaving fans in awe as they dominated the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 08 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. SRH achieved the highest IPL total to date, posting an impressive 277/3, securing a 31-run victory over MI.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s explosive batting

Opening batter Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma showcased an extraordinary exhibition of power hitting. Head’s blistering 62 off 24 balls set the stage, but it was Abhishek’s remarkable 63 off just 23 deliveries that stole the show. Abhishek’s innings not only propelled SRH to victory but also etched his name in IPL history, setting a new record for the fastest fifty in the IPL for the Sunrisers franchise, achieved in a mere 16 balls.

Breaking records

As the match progressed, Heinrich Klaasen‘s explosive batting further propelled SRH towards an unprecedented milestone. Klaasen’s unbeaten 80 off 34 balls not only contributed significantly to SRH’s total but also played a pivotal role in breaking an 11-year-old record. The previous highest IPL total of 263/5, set by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2013, was eclipsed by SRH’s remarkable performance.
