In a gripping encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Capitals (DC) kept their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoff aspirations alive with a vital win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Tuesday. However, the match was not devoid of controversy as Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson‘s dismissal sparked a heated debate.

Debate ignited by the controversial catch

Samson, exhibiting sublime form, was on course for a remarkable innings until a catch by Shai Hope led to his exit at 86 runs. Replays suggested a close call regarding the legality of the catch, fueling arguments among fans and experts alike. Despite the contentious nature, the third umpire ruled in favor of DC, intensifying the on-field tension.
