In the 13th match of IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings’ Matheesha Pathirana pulled off a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss the dangerous Delhi Capitals (DC) opener David Warner. Fans and experts have termed the grab as the ‘catch of the tournament’ so far.

After DC opted to bat first, Warner was firing on all cylinders, having reached his fifty off just 32 deliveries. Partnering with Prithvi Shaw, he put CSK bowlers under pressure with a 93-run partnership.

The sheer brilliance of the catch left everyone stunned, including Warner himself. He acknowledged Pathirana’s effort with a nod as he walked back to the pavilion, visibly disappointed at missing out on a potentially match-winning knock.
