The 43rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) witnessed a clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Monday, May 1. While the game had been going well, a fan got into the field and touched Virat Kohli’s feet in a heartwarming gesture.
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis opted to bat first after winning the toss. All batters were troubled by LSG bowlers except the captain and Kohli as RCB posted a target of 127 runs for the home team. The South African batter smashed 44 runs from 40 balls, including one four and one six.
Kohli is one of the most celebrated sports personalities in the world. And during the clash at lucknow, another instance of a pitch invasion by Kohli’s supporters occurred when one of his fans managed to get inside the field and touch the RCB batter’s feet during LSG’s chase. The cricketer gave the fan a hug before he left the pitch to celebrate the moment.
