Antigua and Barbuda Falcons win CPL 2026 title

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons produced a commanding performance in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 final, defeating the Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. After opting to bowl first, the Falcons overcame a sensational century from Maaz Sadaqat before chasing down Jamaica’s 171-run target with 20 balls to spare. Sufyan Moqim’s outstanding four-wicket haul and a composed batting display from the Falcons proved decisive on the biggest night of the tournament.

Maaz Sadaqat’s stunning century lifts Jamaica Kingsmen

The Jamaica Kingsmen were put under pressure early after losing Kirk McKenzie for a duck, but Sadaqat responded with a breathtaking innings at the top of the order. The opener smashed 114 runs from just 58 balls, striking eight fours and nine sixes to give Jamaica a strong platform in the final.

Sadaqat found support from Saim Ayub, who contributed 29 from 22 balls, while Keacy Carty added nine. However, Jamaica struggled to maintain their momentum once Sadaqat departed. Rovman Powell and Romaine Morris were dismissed without scoring, while Andre Russell managed only two runs from seven deliveries.

The Jamaica Kingsmen eventually reached 170/9 in 20 overs, with Sadaqat’s remarkable century accounting for a huge portion of their total. For the Falcons, Moqim was the standout bowler, finishing with exceptional figures of 4/14 from four overs. Alzarri Joseph claimed 2/27, while Jayden Seales, Shadab Khan and Shamar Springer picked up one wicket apiece.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chase down target with ease

Despite Jamaica posting a competitive total, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons made light work of the chase. Rahkeem Cornwall provided an explosive start, smashing 20 from just six balls, including two fours and two sixes, before Evin Lewis continued the attack with 38 from 26 deliveries.

Amir Jangoo then anchored the innings with an impressive 57 off 34 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes. Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 47 from 35 balls, striking three fours and three sixes as the Falcons steadily moved towards the finish line.

The Falcons reached 173/2 in 16.4 overs, completing a comfortable eight-wicket victory and securing the CPL 2026 title. Jamaica’s bowlers struggled to contain the chase, with Saim Ayub and Vitel Lawes taking the two wickets, while Keemo Paul was relatively economical with 18 runs from his three overs.

Moqim’s brilliant spell earned him the Player of the Match award after his four-wicket performance restricted the Kingsmen despite Sadaqat’s extraordinary century. The Player of the Tournament award went to Falcons all-rounder Shadab, who enjoyed an influential campaign with 132 runs and 11 wickets. His contributions with both bat and ball played a key role in Antigua and Barbuda’s successful run through the competition.
