The fourth edition of the DP World International League T20 (ILT20) is set to commence on December 2 in the UAE, promising over a month of thrilling cricket action. Six formidable teams will compete across 34 total matches, all vying for the ultimate prize in the Final on January 4.
All eyes will be on the defending champions, the Dubai Capitals, who claimed the trophy during the league’s third season. They will face stiff competition from the other five franchises looking to dethrone them in what is expected to be a competitive tournament.
ILT20: Format
The league stage of the tournament features a comprehensive round-robin format, with all six teams participating in a total of 30 league matches.
The structure for the knockout stage is as follows:
- Playoff Qualification: The top four teams on the league table will advance to the playoff rounds.
- Qualifier 1: The first and second-ranked teams will face off, with the winner earning an immediate, direct entry into the Grand Final.
- Eliminator: The third and fourth-ranked teams will compete in a sudden-death match.
- Qualifier 2: The loser of Qualifier 1 will get a second chance, battling the winner of the Eliminator for the remaining spot in the Final.
ILT20 Season 4: Venues
All 34 matches will be distributed across the three major international cricket venues in the United Arab Emirates. The host cities and stadiums are:
- Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai)
- Sharjah Cricket Stadium (Sharjah)
- Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi)
The action will build up to the season’s climax, with the Final scheduled for January 4.
