Uttar Pradesh batter Sameer Rizvi was sold for a whopping INR 8.4 Crore to Chennai Super Kings during the IPL 2024 mini auction on Tuesday, December 19 at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Rizvi entered the auction with a base price of INR 20 Lakh with Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals showing interest to buy him. It was eventually, CSK who won the bidding war and onboarded the talented 20-year-old.

Rizvi made headlines for his stellar performances in the recent UP T20 League where he hit the most number of sixes for Kanpur Superstars (35). He further scored two breathtaking centuries during the T20 extravaganza and scored 455 runs in nine innings.
